Shopify and Shopify Network Intelligence

Aperture Direct is hosted on Shopify, which provides the ecommerce platform used to operate the Site and process transactions.

When you visit or make a purchase from Aperture Direct, Shopify processes information associated with your interactions with the Site in order to provide its services to Aperture and to you.

Aperture Direct has Shopify Network Intelligence enabled. When this feature is enabled, Shopify may securely use customer information from interactions and transactions with Aperture Direct together with information from customer interactions with Shopify and other Shopify merchants to provide enhanced Shopify services.

These enhanced services may include improved ecommerce functionality, fraud prevention, analytics, product improvements, personalization, marketing measurement, and advertising features.

Certain uses of personal information through Shopify Network Intelligence, including advertising based on activity across different merchants or services, may be considered “sharing,” “sale,” or “targeted advertising” under the privacy laws of certain U.S. states.

Where required by applicable law, customers may opt out of these uses through the Data Sharing Opt-Out page available on Aperture Direct.

Shopify does not provide other merchants with access to Aperture Direct's customer data. Shopify may, however, use information from interactions across Shopify and Shopify-powered merchants to generate insights and provide its services as described above.

How We Disclose Personal Information

We may disclose personal information when reasonably necessary to operate Aperture Direct, provide products and services, fulfill orders, comply with legal requirements, or conduct our business.

  • FedEx and other shipping or freight providers

  • Warehousing and fulfillment providers

  • Customer service and product support providers

Data Sharing and Targeted Advertising Opt-Out

Aperture Direct provides a Data Sharing Opt-Out page in U.S. jurisdictions where applicable privacy law provides the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information or the use of personal information for targeted advertising.

If you exercise an applicable opt-out right through this page, your preference will be communicated through Shopify's customer privacy tools and applied to applicable data processing.

Where required by law, Aperture Direct also recognizes supported browser-based opt-out preference signals, including the Global Privacy Control (GPC).

An opt-out of targeted advertising or data sharing does not prevent Aperture or its service providers from processing information when necessary to operate the Site, fulfill an order, provide requested services, maintain security, prevent fraud, or perform other activities permitted by applicable law.

You may unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time by using the unsubscribe mechanism included in those communications.

California residents may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended (“CCPA”).

California residents may also have rights under California's “Shine the Light” law regarding certain disclosures of personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes.

Once you leave Aperture Direct, Aperture does not control the privacy or security practices of the third-party website or service. Information you provide directly to a third party is subject to that third party's terms and privacy practices.
