Description

The AquaIllumination Hydra Edge 44HD is a fully programmable LED light designed for reef aquariums. It combines the Solar Blue reef spectrum with wide-angle EdgeField optics and the Solar Ring to provide broad, even coverage while maintaining adjustable shimmer and caustic effects.

Built-in wireless control allows programming through the Mobius or myAI app, while HyperDrive technology redistributes available power between color channels for greater spectrum flexibility. A dedicated moonlight channel is also included for nighttime and lunar-style lighting.

Solar Blue Spectrum

The Hydra Edge 44HD uses AquaIllumination's Solar Blue spectrum, combining a full-spectrum foundation with the blue-focused appearance commonly associated with AI reef lighting. Individual channel control allows the spectrum and overall appearance to be adjusted for different coral needs and viewing preferences.

EdgeField Optics

EdgeField optics provide a 100° output angle designed to create wide coverage, even PAR distribution, and smooth color mixing across the aquarium. The specular exit surface also helps maintain a natural shimmer while providing the broader spread of a multi-LED fixture.

Solar Ring

The Solar Ring uses a concentrated array of white and warm white LEDs in the center of the fixture to create adjustable shimmer and caustic effects. The Solar Ring can be controlled independently, allowing the amount of shimmer to be adjusted separately from the surrounding LED output.
