Description

The AquaIllumination Blade Freshwater is a slim, programmable LED strip light designed for freshwater and planted aquariums. Its LED mix combines cool white, warm white, blue, and red diodes to provide a balanced white spectrum with a highly tunable color temperature for a natural-looking display.

Blade Freshwater fixtures are available in seven lengths from 12 to 66 inches. All sizes use EdgeField optics for wide, even coverage and integrated smart control through the Mobius app, with additional support for myAI and Neptune Systems Apex through an optional MXM module.

Freshwater Spectrum

The Blade Freshwater uses a balanced mix of white, red, and blue LEDs designed to provide flexible spectrum control for tropical fish and planted aquariums. Its tunable white output allows the fixture to be adjusted across a range of color temperatures to suit different aquarium displays.

Each LED cluster group contains 24 diodes. Blade size determines the number of cluster groups used across the length of the fixture.

LED Configuration Per Cluster Group:

Cool White: 16 | Warm White: 3 | Blue: 2 | Red: 3

EdgeField Optics

EdgeField optics are designed to provide even PAR distribution, consistent color mixing and broad coverage along the length of the fixture. The optical system produces a 95-degree spread while maintaining visible shimmer in the aquarium.

Flexible Lighting Configurations

Blade Freshwater can be used as a standalone light source for freshwater and planted aquariums or combined with additional Blade fixtures where more output or coverage is required.

The slim form factor also allows Blade fixtures to be incorporated into multi-light installations where broad, even illumination is preferred.

Control and Compatibility

Blade Freshwater includes integrated smart control and can be configured and programmed through the Mobius app on a compatible iOS or Android device. It is also compatible with the myAI app.

The Blade Freshwater can be controlled through Neptune Systems Apex and Apex Fusion using a separately purchased MXM module and compatible Apex controller.

Mounting

Blade fixtures up to 39.1 inches include the Low Profile Tank Rest. The tank rest can extend up to 4.5 inches on either side of the fixture, providing up to 9 inches of total adjustment.

Blade fixtures longer than 39.1 inches include mounting clips compatible with AquaIllumination HMS Single-Arm and HMS Hanging Kit rails. Each Blade also includes an M8 mounting thread at each end for additional mounting configurations.

Optional Elevated Tank Mount, Hanging Kit and Hybrid Mount solutions are available for installations requiring different mounting arrangements.
